Arranged for the engine lift. Engine gets lifted out at 1330 tomorrow, I have had the crane operator to look that all is ready to go. The engine is moving freely on the engine mountings, & there is plenty of room to manoeuvre if needs be. We were unable to get at 2 of the bolts that secure the old fire fighting gear to the engine, but that will be removed when its out, as will the old pulley that used to drive the fire pump. Its been a fiddly process (lucky we had Richie to get into the tight spaces), but now all is ready. I dont know what these DIY shops are playing at, they seem to be running down their stock? Wicks was like Alcatraz & half of what I wanted was "out of stock", similarly B&M were out of stock, & Rabart could only offer me a litre of "Signal Red" because they would have to mix a litre, what is this post Covid world coming to? With a litre of Signal Red I could paint a fire engine not a skinny red boot top line?
