All smoke & mirrors!" Seeing as the rain had stopped I decided to do a bit more on Mumbles Belle, I managed to put Creosote on the movable duck boards, so flushed with success I decided to coat the non- movable sections that are screwed to the fiberglass deck. I wondered why the boards were still showing wet after I had "squeezed" them? ? I lifted the engine cover to see where the water was coming from, & found both bilges filled to overflowing with rain water! (as I had been brushing it down one hole it was coming up from another) lol Many dozens of buckets full later the bilges were empty, the batteries are disconnected so the bilge pumps can't work, anyhow the electrics work through a "split charge diode" system, & the electricity goes through the alternator (I think) which works the bilge pumps. Seeing as the alternator is attached to the engine & is in Pontardawe there wasn't much chance of the bilge pumps working lol. (I told you it was all smoke & mirrors) I did manage to do some Creosoting & we are ready for the engine to go back in now it has been fixed. I am hoping that next weekend will see us back on the water. Skipper Vic
