Unfortunately anglers aboard "Mumbles Belle" will not be able to enter this competition, because of the "leave & return" from River Afan rule. "Oystercat" will probably be OK because she has the speed to get across to the River Afan in time for the start, & the speed to get back from there again in the evening, if she has to go in to get anything weighed. We on Belle have no doubt that we will outfish the Cat (yet again) , but somebody might get lucky & find themselves attached to a "challenged"" cod by sheer luck, as they charge around the Bay! We on the other hand will use the "stealth" method, & lie in ambush using baits that get bigger & bigger throughout the day, in between catching large amounts of jumbo "Richie Pearce special" whiting, & extra large dabs. Don't forget lads luminous green muppets, fished off the bottom 2 hrs before & after high & low water is the secret to filling your fish bucket! By then we should have sorted out the anchor retrieval, but we are still scratching our heads over the tea/coffee/sausage sandwich making, but it is under consideration, so we should have a good day on 16th Feb

UPDATE! To the other angler who gave himself a hernia helping me lift the anchor last time out. Today I installed an "Alderney Ring" system for lifting the anchor, using the Club's anchor, my chain & warp (the club's had too much chain & not enough rope, & my lifting bouy, lazy line, & "banjo", so now it should lift itself & we just pull in the slack. I have rigged the club's anchor chain & warp to my anchor & stored them in the hold as a spare. So no more killing ourselves getting the anchor in. We still have to work on the tea/coffee/sandwiches problem though!
